Madison Keys vs Coco Gauff, Roland-Garros 2025 quarter-final: head-to-head, schedule and how to watch live

An all-USA matchup in the French Open quarter-finals awaits, but who will prevail between world number 7 Keys and second seed Gauff? Find out how to follow the match.

Australian Open champion Madison Keys will face world number two Coco Gauff in the 2025 French Open quarter-finals in Paris.

The clay tennis Grand Slam has produced an all-USA matchup at the final eight stage of women’s singles, the first time this has happened in three years since Gauff defeated Sloane Stephens on her way to a maiden major final in 2022.

Now a US Open singles champion and Roland-Garros doubles winner last year, 21-year-old Gauff faces off against this year’s first Grand Slam champion in Keys, whose victory at Melbourne Park was her debut career major.

World number seven Keys is aiming for a first semi-final appearance on Court Philippe-Chatrier since 2018, while targeting the Australian-French Open double, which has not been accomplished since Serena Williams went back-to-back in the major tournaments a decade ago.

The 30-year-old Keys has had a coincidental run at Roland-Garros 2025; this will be her third consecutive round facing a player from the US, including fellow Australian Open champion and seed Sofia Kenin.

Here is what you need to know ahead of Keys and Gauff’s matchup.

French Open 2025 – Madison Keys vs Coco Gauff head-to-head

The French Open quarter-final will be the sixth time Keys and Gauff have faced each other on the WTA Tour, and it is seventh seed Keys who leads the head-to-head record 3-2.

This will be their second consecutive meeting on clay, when Keys overcame a third seed Gauff in straight sets at the 2024 Madrid Open. The Americans have, in fact, played each other on all three surfaces – hard court, clay, and grass – with Gauff stronger on the hard but Keys winning both matches elsewhere.

In 2022, the pair met in their only Grand Slam encounter so far, in the US Open third round. Both players came in as seeds at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, as the then 18-year-old Gauff triumphed in straight sets before falling in the quarters.
