Stephen Curry’s Grammy Acceptance Speech for “Best Rap Performance”
Steph steps onto the stage in a sleek black suit, Finals MVP trophy in one hand, Grammy in the other. The crowd rises in a standing ovation as he flashes that signature grin.
“Wow… I didn’t think I’d be back on a stage this soon after dropping 47 in Game 7—but here we are.”
laughter from the crowd
“First off, I want to thank God, my family, my teammates—y’all let me cook on and off the court. Shout out to Klay for letting me borrow the locker room for a studio. And Draymond… well, thanks for not yelling during the recording.”
“Look, I’m just a kid from Akron’s rival town with a dream. I never thought a guy known for deep threes would also go platinum with deep verses. I guess rhythm is rhythm, whether it’s with a ball or a beat.”
Steph pauses, raises the Grammy up
“This one’s for the underdogs, the shooters, the hoopers with headphones, and everyone who believes that winning doesn’t stop at one lane. Whether it’s from the logo or the studio—you can splash from anywhere.”
“Oh—and if y’all thought ‘Splash Mode’ was wild, wait till you hear the remix with Beyoncé.”
